10 must-haves for hair care

A girl is only as good as her second day hair, right? I'm not sure about you all, but between braving the daily struggles of motherhood and maintaining a running business I need ALL the low maintainence hair hacks I can get. That means if I'm taking the time to wash and style my hair, it had better last as long as as unhumanly possible!
In today's blog post I have compiled my personal top 10 must have hair care products to keep your style strong, and your hair as healthy as can be! Enjoy!
#1 Color Wow Dream Coat
The Color Wow Dream Coat Spray has quickly become one of my all time favorite products. Chemical damage, daily styling, and even hairs natural texture can leave you with frizzy, poofy hair. This heat activated spray works as a coat to cover your hair strands for amazing humidity proof hair. Unlike other humitiy sprays it doesn't leave an oily residue on the hair nor does it cause any build up! Best part, the effects last for up to 3 Shampoos. THREE! That means you can use less product (save some $$) and have silky hair for longer, with less maintainence. I currently retail this product in the salon for $25.
A good dry shampoo can be truly life changing. You woke up late with no time to wash your hair... dry shampoo. Your workout got a little sweaty but you have to be back to work in 15... dry shampoo. Are you a mom who only gets a 3 minute shower before your tiny human covers the dog in stickers or dumps a 1 lb tub of dark coco powder on your floor (Use your imagination... I'm still cleaning up that mess) never the less, you have to choose between a full body scrub down or pushing your hair ooooonnnee more day... DRY SHAMPOO. This little can has saved me more days than I care to admit. I love this particuar dry shampoo so much because they have a special "dark formula". Now, us girls with dark hair dont have to deal with white residue on our roots! YAY! And don't painic blondies, they have one for you too!
This one may shock you a bit becuase I'm sure you were only expecting hair products. However, I believe that a silk pillow case may be one of THE most important things in my haircare routine. Silk is non-porous, meaning, it wont absorb moisture like cotton. This leaves your hair silky, hydrated, and ready for early mornings! Another benefit of silk is that its... SILKY! Your hair will have less tension on it while tossing and turning which prevents tangles, and creases.
#4 Color WOW Dream Cocktails
Color WOW has an amazing line of products and their cocktails are no exception. With 3 options there is one for you. Kale infused for hair that is prone to breakage, coconut infused for hydration, and carb infused to add thickness and body. These cocktails are applied to damp hair and blow dried in to activate their key ingredients. The results last for days and keep your hair healthy and beautiful!
#5 Babe Boar Bristle Brush
Brushing your hair is an important part of hair and scalp health. So, that means it’s super important to have a quality brush for all your needs. Boar Bristle brushes are amazing to use on dry hair that needs detangled and freshened up. This brush can actually help to condition hair, prevent static, add shine and clean hair by dispersing your natural oils.
#6 WET Brush
As the name implies this brush is best to use on wet hair. When hair is wet, its at its most vulnerable and prone to tension breakage. WET brushes bristles are extremely flexible and tipped with small plastic beads making it easy for the brush to glide through hair without tugging or pulling. Pro-tip: apply your color wow cocktail of choice use and then use your wet brush to evenly distribute the product while also creating more ‘slip’ in the hair to help prevent breakage even more.
#7 Color WOW Silicon/Sulfate Free Shampoo & Conditioner
I know I have mentioned Color WOW a few times, however their color security shampoo and conditioners are giving me all the feels. Packed with all the good stuff that leaves your hair feeling deep cleaned and moisturized! There are no added silicones, conditioning agents, pearling agents, or oils that will create build up and reside. Pro-tip: if you have extensions I highly recommend this shampoo. It is gentle while keepings clean to give your extensions the longest life possible.
#8 Shampoo Brush
I know what you're thinking... another brush?! BUT.. Hear me out...A shampoo brush is not only the next best thing to your hairstylist’s expert shampoo skills, but a vital part of washing your hair! Most of my clients had never heard of one until I brought it up. These little tools can loosen dead skin and old products left behind on the scalp. This frees up your hair follicles and can actually allow for better hair growth and an over-all healthier scalp. Plus, it just feels nice, like a trip to the spa in your own home!
#9 Aria Beauty Flat iron
Its no secret, my go to tool is my flat iron. Whether I’m using it to get the perfect amount of sleekness to a bob, or adding in some beach waves this flat iron is quickly becoming my favorite. Lots of times I find that clients put a lot of money into their products, but neglect purchasing the proper tools. What I love about this iron is that it has titanium plates to give extreme smoothing, an adjustable dial so you can get the perfect temperature, and its curved edges make it perfect for curling. #10 Knowledge.
Last but certainly not least is maybe THE most important thing you can possess in your hair care arsenal. KNOWLEDGE. If you ever have questions about your hair needs or want to switch things up, your hair stylist is only an appointment away. Ask questions, bring in your tools, and take in all the knowledge. I love nothing more than for my clients hair to look as amazing when they do it at home as when I do it. This is why I’m always willing to teach and throw pro tips around like confetti!
